Catchgate V Blackfyne

In a moment of controversy the score was opened. Graham hit a good shot that hit the post then cannoned off the keeper and into the net. Despite claims to the contrary the dubious goals panel awarded the goal as an own goal.

More was to follow wit Jordan finishing off a Macca cross then Connor making an unchallenged run from the halfway line to make it 3-0. Connor increased his own personal tally with a screamer from 22 yards (20.177 metres).

There was still time for Graham to get his first of the game with a good turn and finish before Jack wrapped it up by pouncing onto his own knockdown.

Blackfyne V Hebburn

A tough opening day fixture against Hebburn resulted in a 5-3 defeat. The scoring was opened from the penalty spot by Macca after Jordan had broke through and been hauled down.

Hebburn then took control of the game scoring 5 goals unanswered including the third one from Jamie Bell who was deadly from 2 yards out with his right foot.

Towards the end of the game however things began to change. Firstly, Jack was played through by a combination of Stephen and Graham to finish coolly over the keeper.

Then Ryan broke free in the 18 yard box to finish clinically, racing to equal top of the top scorers chart. We feel sure this quality finish was picked up by the attendant scouts.

Blackfyne v Pelton

In your regular end of season 7-7 draw the following players got on the scoresheet

1-0 Stonesy. Played in by Jordan, one on one with the keeper and passed it into the net.

2-0 Stonesy from a Jordan cross

3-1 Dale straight from kick off.

4-2 Jordan played in by Macca for a good goal from 17 yards.(Not 18 or 16)

5-3 Macca with a tap in from a Stonesy free

6-6 A Jordan header from a Stonesy corner.

7-7 Stonesy with what was described at the time as a phantom goal.

Rutherford V Balckfyne

In a tightly fought game that finished 2-2 Marshall made it 1-0 with a well taken header from a throw in and Stonesy made it 2-2 to claim a draw with a right footed finish into the top right hand corner.

Blackfyne v Ryton

We always knew it would be a close game in the first of our double header against the league leaders and we were not proved wrong in the game of the season so far.

Ryton took the lead after the referee ruled a backpass and gave Ryton an indirect free kick. The ball was squared and hit, Jack just got a hand to it but was unable to keep it out.

It then went to 0-2 before Jordan brought us back into the game beating the keeper with a neat finish. Ryton went straight back up the pitch to score again showing the quality that has seen them go undefeated in the league.

The talk on the sidelines was of getting one back before half time to give us a fighting chance. Good work between Connor and Macca resulted in Macca slipping it inside the left hand post.

The second half provided even better news as Macca lobbed the keeper to put us back on level terms. A strong penalty appeal was turned down before Stonesy unleashed a terrific shot over the keeper to put Blackfyne into the lead.

That was it we thought, but a miss hit clearance broke kindly for Ryton and they made the most of their chance to equalise.

With only seconds remaining however the ball broke for Jordan who finished with his left foot for an injury time winner to prevent the game going to extra time.

I am doing this report early as the doctor says exercise is good for my arm after the blood circulation was cut off by Mr. Monaghan holding  it so tightly in the final five minutes of the game. I felt I had to turn down his request to, "Just hold me."

Congratulations on a thoroughly deserved win Gentlemen. Remember it's the same team next week in the league so lets have everyone up for that. I think Ryton will feel they deserve some revenge so you will all need to be at the top of your game.

Blackfyne V Chopwell

A vastly improved Chopwell team provided a good standard of opposition in an entertaining game.

Dale got an early goal with a tidy finish just sneaking under the keeper. 1-0 closely followed with Macca getting his first one after good passing with Jordan.

We thought that the floodgates would open but Chopwell are now made of sterner stuff and forced their way back into it with a sharp reply.

Jordan made it 3-1 taking on the keeper before despatching the ball into the top right corner. Macca then proved how deadly he is with his head in the 6 yard box by giving the keeper no chance. Once Jack had picked the ball out of the net this made it 3-2 at half time.

Jordan got his second with a curled left foot near post finish to restore our two goal advantage. Then Stonesy squeezed it between the keeper and the left hand post.

To their credit Chopwell kept going before Macca scored from the penalty spot and then dribbled in for a hat trick.

Blaydon V Blackfyne

Right, I know it's been a while coming but there was nearly no match report due to a housework incident. (Having retrieved my scribbled notes from the bin we'll have a go).

It's been my posting week on eBay you see and this is a busy time of year for us. Lots of people needing gel nail lamps. Fair enough Stonesy got the first one with a chipped finish after a midfield scramble, but his nails would be a lot tidier with a 9w gel lamp available for a bargain £9.99. + p&p obviously.

Stonesy then played Connor in for a second which put us back in the lead after a defensive mix up. Mind there's no mix ups in the kitchen with our selection of under cabinet lights available at rock bottom prices.

Ollie then made it three with a tidy finish beyond the grasp of the keeper. Maybe if he had kept his nails in better condition with our flagship 36W gel light with four free UV bulbs he'd have got closer to it.

A satisfying 3-1 away win keeping us in contention at the top end of the table. Good feedback all round gentlemen

Blackfyne v Catchgate

We have received word from the league that they will allow the result to stand, despite our flirting with the regulations of the competition by some players openly flouting our strip rules.

On a nice, bright, sunny afternoon we took the lead early doors with a rasping 35 yard drive from Chrissy that the opposition keeper chose to try to kick rather than catch.

2-0 arrived shortly after with a volley from his central defensive partner Mr Lindsley finishing with a volley from a left wing corner.

Jordan, who was obviously re-acclimatising to the British weather after failing in his task to get one simple photo done in Fuerteventura made it 3 by getting his head to Ollies cross.

Goals four and five were courtesy of Connor the first one finishing at the second attempt, shortly to be followed by a blockbuster into the top right hand corner.

6-0 saw Ollie deservedly on the scoresheet clipping it back across the keeper. Aaron and Stonesy provided the next two goals with the first one going in off the far post and the next getting on the end of a good passing move.

Macca finished with a looping left foot volley for number nine and Marshall finished the scoring with a twenty five yard piledriver.

However that was only the start of the drama. As you know our home strip is blue top, shorts and socks.

Some members of the team chose to flout this strip by wearing an unauthorised item i.e.. GLOVES.

We have now cleared this with the league rules and they have issued us with an authorised style of glove for our players to wear if it's a bit Pearl Harbour on the day of the match. To make sure we don't have any mistakes we have included a picture below of the only acceptable handwear.

All players wishing to wear gloves during games are more than welcome to wear this authorised style.

Catchgate v Blackfyne

In a game that we never looked in trouble in, a good display by the Catchgate keeper kept the score down to 4-0. It took until about halfway through the first half for Jordan to open the scoring finishing off after Aaron and Stonesy both went close.

Aaron seemed destined not to get a goal after going close on a number of occasions but he finshed the hardest one of the lot with a cross goal header from a Stonesy cross. The ball powering into the top right hand corner for possibly the goal of the season so far.

The second half carried on in a familiar theme with lots of attacking but the goal leading a charmed life. Then the goalie was given a helping hand on the line by one of his defenders and the ref awarded the inevitable penalty with the unfortunate defender becoming by my reckoning the second player to be sent off against Blackfyne. (I'm willing  to be corrected on that if anyone knows better).

Macca converted the penalty and the score was further increased when Dale scored directly from a corner.

Blackfyne v Blaydon

Instead of the normal rubbish you get on here we're going to tell you the real story.

The Carlin's have just got back from Florida. Twisting about going to work as well.

To make matters worse Jordan's mam has the nerve to say they are going to Fuerteventura and doesn't even ask the answers to the quiz in the Talk of the Town.

(Aaron, if you ask us we'll tell you them all. Tell Dave that we sent you. Put your name in as the Consett Crew and he'll look at you as if you're a bit strange.)

How muddy was it this morning. It made no difference. The smooth passing game that has emerged over many hours of training paid dividends.

You can see how many notes we made in our new notebook supplied by Ryans dad.

You can't possibly want goal reports but your going to get them.

1-0 Jordan. A 1-2 with Macca and our overlapping fullback Mona ended up with a shot from Stonesy which Jordan followed up to finish. (As he will when he goes to Rosie O Grady's and orders the potato skins for starters).

2-0 Connor scoring from a brave header that was cleared from behind the line before the ref saw sense.

3-0 Jordan again from Stonesy's cross which slid under the keeper for a goal line finish.

( Just remember in the pop quiz in the Talk of the Town that it isn't Jammin by Bob Marley but Master Blaster by Stevie Wonder. It's a common mistake but not one you should fall into the trap of making).

Signed sealed delivered he's yours.

4-0 Saw Ollie run from the halfway line for a strong run with a top right hand corner finish.

5-0 Macca Played in by Stonsey to finish at the second attempt. (Much like he does in Talk of the Town when play your cards right comes on).

It may only be higher or lower to you but it normally decides whether we can have breakfast or not. We recommend Chablis .It's about halfway down the main drag on the left hand side. Nice hash browns.

6-2 Stonesy latches on to Maccas through ball to finish 1 on 1 with the keeper.

Just turn left here. Nice pizzas in Di Napoli a well

7-2 Stonesy finishes after Ollies shot is saved by the keeper.

8-2 Stonesy rounds the keeper to make sure that his goal scoring record is kept up.

9-2 After recovering from a life threatening injury Jordan completed his hat-trick before being controversially subbed.

10-2 Ryan finished clinically to ensure that we reached double figures. A cool near post shot leaving the keeper with no chance.

Avenvida. In case you were trying to remember. We also recommend the Sports bar on the corner. But you should really have a little walk up past the water park and go to the Piri Piri Chicken restaurant. Well worth the trip.

It probably all depends how late you are staying but just when you think it couldn't be anything else but the classic song that is, Sitting on the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding, you will find out that it's actually Deeply Dippy by Right Said Fred.

The least we expect is a photo of Aaron or Jordan with Dave from the Talk of the Town. Preferably both.

Blackfyne v Pelton (Cup)

Right lads, this has got to stop. This page is going to end up as the longest web page in history.

Points will be awarded for anyone who can recite the scores and scorers in the right order. On a more practical side I'm going to have to get a bigger notebook.

1-0 Stonesy as reliable as ever with a right foot finish into the bottom left corner.

2-0 Ollie with the first of four. A searching ball from Dale headed on by Macca to Ollie for a tight finish over the keeper.

3-0 Dale with the first of a creditable brace in a goalmouth scramble.

4-0 Aaron tackled it into the net after a cross from Stonesy.

5-1 Jordan getting his first with a swinging right foot finish.

6-1 Jordan again with an 18 yard finish into the bottom right.

7-2 Ollie again after Jordan dummied the ball in a clever bit of teamwork.

8-2 Jordan left 1 on 1 with the keeper making a decisive finish.

9-2 Macca finishing sweetly with his left foot without falling over.

10-2 Ollie. Following good work from Aaron Ollie hit a thunderbolt from about 18 yards thundering in of the underside of the bar.

11-2 Connor after a clever 1-2 with Stonesy on the edge of the box.

12-2 Ollie finishing at the second attempt after a good run.

13-2 Stonesy with a delightful chip after being played in by Connor.

14-2 Jordan finishing through the keepers legs after a battling run.

15-2 Jordan 1 on1 with the keeper, dribbled round and finished with ease.

16-2 Dale with a far post finish after a Stonesy free kick.

Back to the hard work of the league on Sunday with another game against Pelton. No time to rest on previous results though. It's been a good start to the season gentlemen.

Chopwell V Blackfyne

The first game of the new season and the short journey to Chopwell was lengthened by the closure of the bridge at Blackhall Mill that had been damaged by the recent floods. Little did we know that it would soon be flooding goals.

So as not to miss anyone out we are going to have your match report as a list this time as to do anything else will leave us with no space on the rest of the page.

Here we go please try and keep up at the back:

0-1 Jordan. Latched onto through ball by Macca for a crisp finish.

0-2 Jordan. Good cross from Connor finished on the volley into the bottom left hand corner.

0-3 Jordan Good tackle by Aaron Strong finish.

0-4 Stonesy. Trademark 25 yard freekick

0-5 Ollie. Clever chipped finish from a tight angle

0-6 Connor. Squeezed into the bottom left corner

0-7 Michael Good run and finish into bottom right

0-8 Stephen. A surging dribble cooly slotted into bottom right despite the nose bleed from being so high up the pitch.

0-9 Stonesy. With an apologetic tap in

0-10 Ollie. Finished at the second attempt

0-11 Ryan. With a cunningly poached

0-12 Might have been Stonesy but might have been own goal. Will need confirmation from independent sources.

0-13 Macca

0-14 Jordan Tackled into the net.

0-15 Ryan. For a brace of goals.

0-16 Macca

0-17 Dale A cool finish from the youngster

0-18 Jordan

0-19 Stonesy or Jordan. They were arguing about who got the last touch.
